How we handpick

Neighbor2Neighbor was born in the Curtis Wright trailer that served as our backyard home office in Venice Beach. Coming from arts and academic backgrounds, we knew next to nothing about running a small business. But we figured that as long as we maintained our directory’s integrity, we would build something of value.
Our original focus was providing a reliable directory for our readers, but our perspective expanded in 2008 with the financial crisis. We didn’t know if our little enterprise could survive and considered throwing in the towel. Then we started getting calls from N2N companies concerned they wouldn’t make it without the business they gained from our loyal readers.
We discovered that we’d created something more than a directory. Neighbor2Neighbor is a community—one that has proven resilient over the years as we build on our commitment to our readers and handpicked services.
