Manuel has worked with electricity since the age of 12, when he first apprenticed with his uncle. “I’ve been fascinated by this work from a very young age.”

Manuel takes pride in his customer service. “Every customer is different,” he explains. “My goal is to satisfy each one, so I do the work on time, wear booties in the house and keep the space clean.”
Most importantly, Manuel prioritizes safety. He reviews systems, tidies wires, double-checks connections and is extra careful with ground wiring. He uses tamper-resistant outlets to protect kids, and he makes sure no metal, such as ball-bearing curtain chains, will make contact with outlets. “I never cut corners,” Manuel says. “When you do what you love, you want to do it right.”

Los Angeles near USC - June 4, 2021
We recently purchased a rental property near USC that was fully renovated a year ago. However, the current tenants were having electrical outages in the kitchen. I tried contacting 4 electricians to see who could help and Manuel from A First Electric was the most prompt to respond. He was friendly and considerate on the phone. He was able to go to the property the next day to assess the problem. He had to coordinate with the current tenants to arrive when they were home and he showed up exactly on time. He also arranged with the tenants to come back the next day and correct wiring problems in the panel and replace bad breakers. I was not able to meet him at the property due to my work commitments, but Manuel was excellent at updating me with the status of the repairs and texted photos to me to see what was done. Overall, he made this process very easy for me as an owner. It has been 3 weeks since the repairs and no further problems with circuits tripping in the kitchen. His prices were very reasonable, especially considering the service provided. Very pleased with Manuel and would use him again.

We purchased our first home and hired A First Electric to install new recessed lighting. We really didn’t know what to expect and I was happily surprised at how professional and responsive Manuel was. He came over to look at the place and sent me a very fair quote. I didn’t really know what was available and so it was great to have his recommendations. He came on time and completed the job within the time frame he said. Throughout the whole process he kept us in the loop. He would let us know if he had to make any adjustments because of the set up of our house. The constant feedback kept me at peace. I run a restaurant in DTLA where we had a major electrical issue. The problem was located at the point where the power comes into the building. I thought that the restaurant was in big trouble. At the recommendation of an employee, I reached out to A First Electric. It turns out that the building and electrical system are so old that the part we needed isn't manufactured anymore. After seeing the problem, Manuel had the part made for us. Best of all he did the work in only one day. If I had chosen another electrician the restaurant would've been closed for 3 days. I hired A First Electric to complete some needed electrical upgrades in my View Park home. In total, I got 4 bids for the job and A First Electric fell right in the middle financially. I appreciated the thoroughness of Manuel's estimate. He provided an itemized cost break down (the other companies didn't do this). They upgraded my electrical panel from 100 to 200 amps and installed additional outlets in the master bedroom and living room. All work was completed in a timely and clean manner. It appeared that some previous electrical modifications were made in the house—there is a dramatic difference in quality between Manuel's work and what was previously done. I later hired them a second time to run electrical and install a new light on my back patio. A First Electric helped with thoughtful placement of the new light switch and again did a fantastic job. Manuel is a trustworthy and honest electrician. I would absolutely recommend him to friends and family.

I hired A First Electric to rewire our kitchen and dining room as part of a total remodel of these two rooms. They gave us a price quote that was 30-50% less than other companies. We were equally impressed during the pre-construction walk through by the wealth of knowledge Manuel brought. Manuel inspected the job and showed us where parts of the kitchen had previously been rewired on 3 different occasions and was not up to code. He recommended that we install new wiring back to the main circuit box, placement of new GFI outlets, new switches and new service to appliances. A First Electric handled all rough and finishing electrical work. They designed their plan around our general specifications while offering advice on placement of switches, outlets and lighting taking into consideration the flow of our home. Communication was great. They showed up when they said they would and finished within the time frame they projected. The crew worked during the day and Manuel came by to inspect the work each evening. A First Electric exceeded our expectations in every way. I would hire them again and would recommend them to any of my friends.
