I live in hilly area and a lot of dirt was falling and accumulated behind a small, old retaining wall in my yard. I saw Alberto in the Neighbor2Neighbor book and thought about calling him. Then I was out walking the dogs and saw the nice fence my neighbor was getting done. She said Alberto was doing the work! I called him and he removed my old wall, moved the dirt and built a new wooden retaining wall. I’m very happy with his work and I am going to continue to do business with him.

Everything Alberto Arevalo does is done well. Last year, he did an excellent job sealing the basement in my home – no more rodent problems and the area now stays warm in the winter. This year, he constructed a beautiful six-foot tall by thirty-foot long retaining wall. He also created a swale for drainage alongside my house. He will be coming back to work on another retaining wall soon. In addition to fair pricing and high-quality work, Alberto is pleasant, easy going and always quick to respond to any communications. I’m happy to recommend his company to others.

My wife and I hired Alberto to replace an aging patio roof that was old rusting galvanized steel and some rotting wooden beams. Alberto worked with Nacho to tear down and rebuild the structure with wood and palram suntuf polycarbonate sheets on top. Due to incorrect installation and misalignment of the poly carbonate, from the beginning, we had problems with rain and leaking water through the structure (where the old one which stood for 30 years still did not leak). After only six months, we found out during a windstorm that Alberto had COMPLETELY neglected to attach the structure to its front support beam which allowed the wind to blow the entire structure up onto our house's roof. This destroyed the structure, knocked out our electrical main, and also damaged a section of the new roof we recently had completed. Costing thousands of dollars to fix, Alberto agreed to reimburse my wife and I, over time for the cost of building the structure. Ultimately, he only paid us $600 in compensation until he stopped responding to our phone calls and texts. People have the right to know about this incident so they don't get stuck in a similar situation after hiring Alberto.

Alberto did a beautiful job remodeling my garage into a studio space, laying hardwood floors, painting and adding shelving. He's very thorough and timely and you can tell he takes a lot of pride in his work - I would also recommend him for kitchen and bathroom remodeling too - he did immaculate tile work for a friend's bathroom, which is how I found him!

I own property with tenants and I’m always looking for handymen. After he was referred to me, Alberto took a look at the job and gave me a price. It was not an hourly rate, but a set fee, which he stuck to. He was clean, polite and punctual. He has done lots of little odd jobs for me: replacing a glass in a window, painting, plastering. And he cleans up after himself. His pricing is not cheapest, but not the most expensive either. I’m big on writing lists. I went through the property with my list and told him all the little things that needed to be done. He also had his own pad and pen and took notes. He’s very organized and I was pleased to see at the end that he had done everything on my list down to the last little screw and spot of paint, without my having to go over it twice! I’ve worked with a lot of handymen and they aren’t often that reliable or organized. Some people have got it and some don’t. Alberto has been back twice now and I will use him again.

Alberto has done things like install tile and wood flooring, some painting and put up moulding. He is very reliable and reasonably priced.
