Autobody Shop Specializes in High-End Cars and High-Level Customer Service
“SOME PEOPLE LIKE GOOD FOOD OR GOOD MUSIC. I like good car repair,” smiles Dan Schimpke, co-owner of Beverly Coachcraft, a boutique bodyshop, established in 1979 by Dan’s business partner, Peter Sardi.
Beverly Coachcraft specializes in high-end European cars and complicated structural repairs. Beyond the high level of craftsmanship, the team delivers caring customer service: “When a customer calls, the first thing I ask is ‘are you OK?’. The car we can fix!” says Dan.
Dan personally oversees all repairs from start to finish to ensure quality and safety. The shop also minimizes down time in order to keep rental costs low for the customer.
Beverly Coachcraft is one of a handful of body shops in LA that holds a Mercedes Benz USA Tier 2 Certification, allowing them to work on conventional steel and newly developed aluminum structures.
Beverly Coachcraft’s 25 team members have been carefully selected; most technicians have been with the company for 10-20 years. “Our techs have a combination of mental acuity, good hearts and good hands,” Dan affirms. “After all, you can’t do a good job without the knowledge to do the task, the heart to produce good work, and the skills to complete it safely.”

I’ve brought my car in twice to Beverly Coachcraft and had an extremely positive experience both times. Once was for a little scrape on my door and once was for a total car re-paint after a wind storm. When they finished their work, I could not tell that anything had happened to my car. They are meticulous, careful and extremely good at what they do. The car was returned immaculately clean. Both Dan and Peter are very clear about the work they are doing and how they are going to estimate the work for the insurance. They are very honest and transparent, where as with other shops you feel like they’re not always telling you the whole story. Everything was on time and extremely efficient. They offer superior work and I’ve recommended them several times.

I have worked with Beverly Coachcraft three times over a period of 22 years. The quality of work they do is so good that it’s like getting a brand new car. They paint the repaired areas exactly to match the rest of the car and are very straightforward in approach. Also great customer service—it’s like a walk in the park. It’s been so easy to work with them. They got my car back to me really fast so I did not have to deal with the rental. Their whole system is very tight and organized and the place is immaculately clean. I couldn’t believe it was a body repair shop! You could have a dinner party in there. I also get a good feeling from them as people. They are clearly doing something right to stay in business year after year.

Over the decades, I hate to say that we’ve brought in more than a few cars in need of collision repair and restoration. We always go to Beverly Coachcraft because they do the best job. We knew Dan from before he started the shop and just stuck with him. When you get your car done there, you are assured that it’s going to be meticulous and really just as good as new, no matter what happened to it. It’s amazing. They are very customer service oriented and keep you informed of progress. Prices are competitive, but the results are way better than anywhere else. They will submit the paperwork to your insurance company and typically you don’t have to pay anything at all except your deductible. If you don’t go through insurance, the pricing is still reasonable. Beverly Coachcraft provides an excellent service. They are incredibly honest and straightforward and keep the highest of standards. I think they’re doing everything just right!

Beverly Coachcraft? I love those guys. They are very nice, friendly and responsive. I had a little fender bender and Dan took care of it right away. My car was done on time and came back to me clean, shiny and new. I was so happy. I live in the neighborhood and it was my second time using them. They worked with me on pricing and gave me a break down of what the insurance would cover. They were helpful in explaining all to me so I knew exactly what to expect. No follow-up needed, it was perfect the first time!

There is nothing worse than self-inflicted car damage. No one else going to pay for it but you. I have used Dan’s services twice. I have a 2015 Lexus and had an older Lexus before. In both cases Beverly Coachcraft did an outstanding job. Dan called every day to let me know where they were, and if that changed he would call me back again. And his follow up is amazing—better than mine! Before I found Beverly Coachcraft I had tried another shop. It was a cheap job and it was horrific, so I wasn’t out to get the best price. I wanted the job done right. When I called Dan's, I was desperate to get the work done well and fast. Dan said he could take my car in right away. I have a business where I construct high-end furniture for companies. In my business I can’t promote high-end quality if I am driving in a beat up car. I have owned a lot of vehicles and have had to take them in from time to time. I have never had better body work done than at Beverly Coachcraft. I would definitely use them again, no doubt about it.
