Organizational skills are a must for any photographer worth her Nikon. Besides meeting with the bride and groom to get a feel for their personalities, Debra also confers with the wedding planner, so she knows where everyone will be both the day before and the day of the wedding. Debra explains, “You need to create your own luck by being prepared to capture the special moments before they happen.”
Beyond her evocative photos (many of the portraits in Neighbor2Neighbor were taken by her), Debra goes the extra mile to serve her clients. Her wedding packages always include beautifully crafted albums, and she will hire assistant photographers for larger events.

Repeat customer here! Debra is the best! She is so easy to work with and her ability to capture the most beautiful family portraits are the reasons why we only go to her for our family photos.
The first time we used Debra was for family portraits after having our first child. Debra was amazing with our 1-year old and truly captured some amazing moments. Most recently, we booked Debra for a combined family photo session with my sister's family, my parents and our family. You have no idea how difficult it is to photograph 4 kids that are all under three years of age, but Debra nailed it.
We absolutely loved the photos and wished we could pick more of them! Thanks again for your expertise and beautiful personality! We will be back :)

My husband gifted me a family photo shoot for our 20th wedding anniversary. Our previous shoot was 14 years earlier when our daughter was born. Needless to say there was a lot of pressure for this one to be amazing! To add to the challenge, we tend to be a goofy bunch and camera shy, so finding the right photographer to bring out our personalities was going to be a challenge. As soon as Debra walked through the door I knew she was going to fit right in, and we were in good hands. We booked the mini session with her. Even though it went by quickly, she managed to get every shot on my long wish list...and then some! We were all able to relax and enjoy the experience with Debra behind the camera.
When our photos arrived we were blown away by how well she captured each of us and how natural we looked, especially in our posed shots. There isn't a bad photo in the entire gallery! In fact, we had a tough time narrowing our choices down. Thank you Debra, I hope to make this an annual event with you.

Debra is an amazing photographer. 90% of her work is referral based, and the quality of her images is top notch. She is very flexible working with your budget and never compromises the integrity of her photographs. I was probably Debra’s worst nightmare as a client. I met her with the thickest binder you could buy of shots I wanted for our wedding. Debra had someone onsite at the wedding to go through the binder and make sure nothing was missed. Not only that, but we had 20 people as part of our wedding party, and she was so patient and kind and gracious with everyone. She made them all look really good. We changed things up a lot, and Debra totally went with it and got it. She is also great working with animals—she got my dog to smile in all the pictures! Debra is always so calm. Nothing stresses her out. She really loves what she does. Since our wedding, we’ve gotten our pictures done by Debra several times, and it’s been great. I often think of David LaChapelle. I feel that Debra deserves his clients and his fame way more than he does.

Debra Morrison is “the” photographer that everyone needing photography service should hire. Given my history with photography and how long it normally takes to get a satisfactory picture, (sometimes intended smiles may come off as smirks), I was really hoping that Debra will be “that” photographer who will capture all the right expressions so that I could at least get a couple of acceptable pictures to select from. I had seen a sampling of Debra’s work with other business owners and they all looked happy, relaxed, and trustworthy. When I finally met Debra, in person, she immediately established a relaxed, comfortable and collaborative work environment. She made so many brilliant and perceptive suggestions, exuded patience, listened and articulated back what was working so that those expressions could be recaptured in several outfit changes. I even asked Debra to create some notepads and calendars with some of the photos and she exceeded my expectations on all levels. I was astounded at the number of excellent pictures that she produced. She really knows her stuff, she is cost effective, and will be my photographer for life and I look forward to her memorializing all landmarks in my professional and personal life. I could not be happier to have found such a talented professional photographer.

First of all, Debra is very personable! She took my engagement photos and photos at the engagement party. She helped us feel natural while she was shooting at the Santa Monica Pier, with people standing all around, watching. It was an awkward situation but she kept us focused and comfortable. I am big on customer service because it is my background and Debra is quick to follow up on phone calls and emails. She listened to what I wanted and offered good advice. Her time is flexible and her prices are mid-range, though you get a lot more bang for your buck with Debra’s package. She came up with great creative suggestions, from locations to props, and she clearly outlines, up front, what she is going to do. She is user-friendly and competent. A great combination!

I’ve known Debra for over nine years now. She shot my mother’s 85th birthday portrait. My mom wanted the portrait to be similar to the one she had taken when she was 75. There were so many choices, it was hard to select; all excellent and high quality. My mom lives on an avocado ranch and Debra took pictures of the orchards, house and grounds. Then in the afternoon we went to a restaurant for the party. Debra made sure every person there had their picture taken with my mom and another by themselves or with a friend. She even took her shoes off and stood on a table in the corner to get a good shot of all of us. I have had pictures taken before that cost a lot more. She has an outgoing, bubbly, enthusiastic personality. She spends time talking to you to find out exactly what you want. If I would change anything about her company, I would suggest she charge more money!
