In September 2023, we had Emilio come out to look at replacing our Heating/Air. We had suspected that the system was too small for our home and Emilio quickly determined the same thing. He provided an extremely detailed and fair estimate on the replacement.
After committing to ESP, Emilio and his crew began work the next week. They installed a new condenser unit, they completely relocated our air handling unit and re-ducted our entire home. They began work on a Monday morning and were completely finished by Friday morning.
Emilio and his crew were friendly, clean, and professional. We love our new heating and air system and would recommend ESP Heating and Air to anyone!

I live outside of the area but have several rental units in the SF Valley. One of my tenants was having issues with the air conditioning unit. Emilio was given to me as a recommendation so I called him along with another HVAC company. He got the job hands down!! His price was fair and he could get the work done in a timely manner. My tenant was very complementary about Emilio's thorough work and his time management. He was there when he said he'd be there and had the work done when he said it would be done. Before choosing his company, I interviewed and received bids from 5 other companies in the area, all with decent reviews. Some came in with higher bids, some a little lower. What sold me was Sanchez himself. He oversees the entire project personally. Everything he promised, he delivered to my satisfaction and he and his crew even exceeded my expectations at times. For example, on the first night, his tech stayed late, until at least one of our air conditioner systems was fully functional. That level of commitment meant a lot. Lastly, he was always on time, his techs were all professional and knowledgeable. And, what stood out was how well they respected and treated my property. Our AC unit quit working at around 5:45 PM Friday July 13. We had called a few others, one responded, but said it would be next Wednesday at the earliest. Emilio called us within 20 min after we had left a VM. He told us he is extremely busy, but because its hot he will come today AM. He arrived on time, fixed the AC that was bad, checked the other and even took pictures of the unit, just in case we run into issues with the old units. On a hot day this past week, my husband and I suddenly realized that our air conditioner was not running. I checked/replaced all the fuses and still couldn't get it running. On a whim, I decided to call ESP Heating and Air because I've had good experiences with the service providers in N2N. What a stroke of luck! Mr. Sanchez came to our house that same evening. He was wonderfully polite, asked me a few basic questions and then actually listened to my responses (not always a given when you're a woman). Then he went out and methodically tested every connection in the wiring of our AC unit until he found the culprit. Bad circuit board. He quickly rewired and—ta daa, working AC. He could have tried to upsell me on a bunch of nonsense but he didn't. He was patient and kind about answering my questions. My husband and I were both so grateful that we had called.

I would like to take the initiative to retract my review which I have written and N2N is still publishing under my initials B.C.R. Mr. Sanchez at that time deserved my appreciation. Not any more. Mr. Sanchez has come and charged me quite enough for a part he has changed and installed, a part he has chosen from the similar parts (probably used) it was certainly not new in a sealed package, he had on his truck. This part did not work at all and I have called him back to let him know about it, only to hear him saying "I will call you". HE NEVER DID. It was a waste of my money. I thought I could still rely on him to do a good job. HE DID NOT. In my opinion, He is no longer trustworthy as an HVAC contractor and does not belong in your esteemed publication.

Dear B.C.R., With regard to the part I installed in your system at the end of last winter, I think there was a misunderstanding. I never install used parts. My customers are paying for a brand new part. I would not jeopardize my license or my reputation for something like that. The part I used is called a "hot surface igniter." I keep a good stock of them in the truck because during the winter it's very common that they go out. It is a very fragile part, so much so that I keep them in their box, surrounded by foam. You may recall that I wouldn't let you touch it, it is so fragile. I took it in its box to the attic to complete the work and all was functioning well at the time. After replacing the igniter, I tested out the system three or four times to make sure that it was working. This is standard practice for me. I always check three or four times to make sure everything is clear. You were there, too. We both saw that it was working at the time. I apologize for not calling you back! I was very busy at the moment you called. I didn't write down a reminder to call you back and I forgot. I am not sure why your system isn't working now. I would need to come check it out. I do recall that your furnace was 20+ years old and there may be a different issue coming up now. I am still glad to evaluate the situation if you would like. I was referred to ESP Heating and Air by a co-worker for an HVAC project. I also met with two other recommended contractors. What stood out to me originally about Emilio was his attention to detail and his sincerity. He was significantly more thorough in his inspection of our HVAC system during the initial visit and asked a lot of important questions that helped guide us in our decision-making. He was responsive when I requested multiple quotes, and his contract included a longer warranty on his work than the competitors. From my conversation with him, and from the extended warranty, I got the impression that he was genuine in his commitment to quality. When it came time for the project to begin, he was professional, timely, and always cleaned up after the work was completed. When unexpected challenges arose, Emilio completed the additional work at no cost and still completed the project on time. The work we contracted him to complete was permitted, and the comments we received from the inspectors were stellar. They specifically pointed out how well the HVAC system was installed and all of the duct work was carefully laid out to maximize the storage space in our attic. He maintained contact with us throughout the process of getting the permit to ensure it was completed and everything passed. I am extremely happy with my decision to work with Emilio and would highly recommend his company.

As a licensed contractor I am often disappointed and frustrated when those I hire fail to provide me with the level of service I strive to offer my clients. This was not the case with Emilio and ESP. From the first meeting through completion of the work they were polite, efficient, punctual and friendly. The project was completed with minimum disruption to the household and work areas were clean. Overall, a high level of service at a very competitive price. One of the true measures of great service is responsiveness after payment has been made, and ESP did not let me down here either. Informed that the crew had forgotten to put the attic insulation back in place they turned up the next day to take care of it. I would recommend these guys without hesitation or reservation to anyone needing HVAC services.

I’ve known Emilio since he started in the industry, and we’ve worked together for around ten years now. I run a general contracting business, and he has always been one of the best subcontractors I’ve worked with. He and his crew are on time and pay attention to details. One of the most important things for a contractor is that he is always there working, he doesn’t just send out his crew. Also he has worked with the same guys for quite awhile now. I had him do some work on my own home’s forced air system. ESP Heating and Air does great work at a competitive cost. I highly recommend him to my own customers and even other contractors.

I’ve used Emilio twice for HVAC projects in my home. The first time was five or six years ago on a previous house. I had read an article in Consumer Reports and they rated American Standard very highly. I shopped around quite a bit and called several dealers in the area. Emilio's prices were the best—he's very competitive. Then recently we had a failure on our air conditioning system in my current house. The place came with the original unit that was about 30 years old and had developed a leak in the evaporator system. It wasn't going to be economical to repair, and I needed to replace it. Emilio and his crew are always very, very nice when they come to your home. I'd say they are like friends. My wife just loves the guys. I got a few other quotes for installing a new air conditioning unit for my home before I contacted Emilio. Emilio saved us 35-40% compared to the other companies. This was five years ago. Since then I have referred him to a half dozen of my friends and clients and have not heard a single negative thing about Emilio or his work. His work is very professional, and he is always on time. He gave us a proposal that did not change. The job was done well and required no follow-up. I referred him to one of my clients who was having a hard time and Emilio did some extra work that needed to be done and did not add it to his invoice.
