We were dreading the task of refinishing our wooden shelves, cabinets, and cupboards in our bathroom and kitchen.
Then we found Tarwat Bearany and his team in N2N. We hit it off immediately when Tarwat came out to review the job. He’s smart, honest and open about his ideas. He gave us several options but guided us to the one that fit our budget and timeline. He was generous about making samples and re-making them if we weren’t happy. And he didn’t just do this to get the sale! If anything bothered us during the course of the job, he jumped on it and made sure that his team fixed it.
He and his team were fabulous about wearing masks and keeping a safe distance from us.
Honestly, I cannot recommend Hollywood Refinishing highly enough. Save the trees! Save your time. Save your money—but still have a terrific result.

Hollywood Refinishing has done a number of different jobs for us. When you have higher quality cabinets, it doesn’t make sense to buy new ones when you can refinish them. Tarwat refinished the cabinets in our master bath, our master bedroom and our kitchen and he redid the railing on our staircase.
I had started with another contractor who was remodeling our bath and bedroom, but he was a typical flakey contractor and didn’t show up half the time. We finally canceled the contract. I needed someone to step in and take over. Tarwat transformed what was left from the first contractor and did an amazing, beautiful job for us! His pricing was just a little bit more than another company I interviewed, but after talking to Tarwat I didn’t need to talk to anyone else.
Later, when we revisited the kitchen, we brought Tarwat back with the same crew. Paul is amazing. It has been eight years since we first hired them. If there was wear and tear on the cabinets, we would sometimes call Tarwat back for touch ups and they always did an amazing job.
The work they did on the staircase is incredible. It went from a light maple to a deep mahogany finish. It was a big job because the staircase goes up three levels. The handrail is used all the time and there has been no problem with fading or discoloration.
I have recommended Tarwat many times. His pricing is spot on. For us it wasn't a huge expense and it saves money to refinish rather than replace the cabinets. Plus, the work he does is such high quality.
He and his team communicate well and they are reliable. When the guys said they would be there at 8 am, they were there on the dot. Their work ethic is incredible. That’s hard to find! The company is fantastic.
Also Tarwat is just an amazing guy: a super fun, honest, genuine business owner that tells you exactly what he will do and nothing changes. Completely legit. He is A +++. I miss him!

I used Hollywood Refinishing to overhaul my kitchen. I was on a limited budget but unlike other contractors I interviewed, Tarwat told me he could work within my budget. He has such an inclination to help you get what you need. I am big on trust. Tarwat is one of the nicest people I have met and the one of the most delightful people I have ever dealt with in business.
He is reliable. Every time he said something would happen, it would happen. His crew was great. They were always willing to help, always spoke English and always confirmed everything. If your people aren’t happy, nobody is! Tarwat keeps his employees happy. All around, Tarwat is an A+ from both a human and a work perspective.

Everyone says home remodeling is a nightmare, but the opposite was true with Tarwat. Our kitchen looks beautiful and I miss Tarwat and his people very day because they are so amazing. He gave me a quote based on the architect’s drawings and said that the price could go up or down from there based on what I wanted to do. Other contractors had told me we would have to start from scratch on certain things, but Tarwat worked with me. For example, he refinished cabinets rather than replacing them and they look great. Tarwat kept me apprised every step of the way about costs and gave me clear choices so that I always knew where we were in the budget. In the end he did not exceed the quote by $1. Hire Tarwat if you ever need work done. He is the best.

Hollywood Refinishing painted our kitchen cabinets, linen closet, shutters and our bathroom cabinets. I called quite a few contractors to bid the job, and Tarwat’s pricing fell in the middle, but he really impressed me. He was very accessible and he came several times to our house to bring samples, even before we had signed an agreement. He even took one of our cabinet doors and refinished it to show us the quality of the work and what the color would look like. We never felt rushed. He was genuinely interested in making sure we got what we wanted. We were comfortable with Tarwat and his crew. Tarwat was very involved in the design elements and then the crew comes in, but even then, he seemed to be in close contact with the crew.
They were on time, accommodating, very professional and cleaned up after themselves. There were a couple of small issues and Tarwat had the guys come out and fix them. Tarwat was a man of his word. We had a great experience personally and the project got done when he said, and he did everything he promised to do. Put it this way: my wife is thrilled with the end result.

I am a real estate agent and I do not recommend contractors because you just never know what kind of job they will do. Tarwat is the one contractor I would refer to anyone. I had hired a contractor and he damaged my new kitchen cabinets and some of my hardwood floors. I was happy to find Hollywood Refinishing. Tarwat is very responsive. He came right over and gave me a quote. He took the cabinets to his shop and worked on the floors and in very little time we were able to go back to our regular lives! I never had any problem connecting with him—if I called or texted he got back to me right away.

Tarwat did a lot of work in my house. He started with refinishing my solid oak kitchen cabinets, which came out beautifully. He then worked on other cabinets in my house, refinished the banister and the front door and he replaced cabinet doors in the bathroom that had warped from moisture. He also replaced the granite kitchen countertops, built an entertainment center for me in the bedroom, and he referred me to someone who replaced the glass shower doors. He sent me to Sunland to meet with his associates at granite yards to select granite slabs for the kitchen countertops and two bathrooms. Quite an experience.
Tarwat is very nice, always fun to be around. He is extremely easy to get a hold of.
The house is 23 years old and beautiful. These upgrades have increased its value.

Our house flooded and I called a number of contractors to bid on redoing the house, including the cabinets for our kitchen which were not a part of the damage. On the day of Tarwat's visit, I had scheduled my third estimate with another contractor as I had thought Tarwat only specialized on cabinets. The other contractor did a quick walk through for an estimate and it was only after he left that Tarwat informed me he had a general contractor’s license as well. This was exciting news as Tarwat was so much more engaging and helpful than every contractor before and after him.
We wanted expert opinions and input on not just repair but rearrangement, colors, etc. The other contractors offered very little input and their portfolios were pretty much the same style and look for every home they worked on. Tarwat had great ideas and suggestions for our home and his portfolio was a testament to that. There was not one project the same—each one was custom to each house.
From beginning to end his team, his communication, pricing, craftsmanship, dedication—everything was fantastic. It is hard work! If you watch him managing the business, he is like a conductor. He was running multiple projects at the same time as ours and not once did I feel I was put to the side or ignored. And I am sure ours was not the biggest project he was working on. The crew was like clockwork. They came on time and cleaned up. It was beautiful! I complimented Tarwat on his various crews and he told me that he has worked with many throughout the years but makes sure to take good care of the best ones so they stay with the company.
Tarwat's had very competitive pricing, but even if he had charged more, it would have been worth it to work with him.
The main thing that separated Hollywood Refinishing from the rest was Tarwat himself. His personality is very engaging and responsible. Tarwat is head and shoulders above as a person, but the whole experience was fantastic. I can’t recommend him highly enough.
