Contractor Excels at Meticulous Planning, Stunning Home Renovations
IMAGINE A CONTRACTOR who gets the job done on time, on budget and whose craftsmanship exceeds your expectations.
For Mickey Granot of Karma Builders, "construction is an art," a philosophy that inspires his complete home remodels, home additions and ground-up builds. Mickey works on the job site every day and employs a dedicated group of subcontractors. “We hire people who are the best in their trade and have great interpersonal skills,“ Mickey explains.
Mickey communicates throughout every phase of a project, sparing his clients the unwanted surprises so often associated with construction. He plans meticulously, ordering materials ahead of time and anticipating problems that might slow down other contractors.
Clients appreciate that Karma Builders sticks to their budget. Mickey will inform a client about cost-effective options, but he never cuts corners. If an upgrade is out of your price range, he lets you know upfront so you can weigh your options.
Mickey builds solid relationships with his customers. “We walk in as contractors and walk out as friends. At the end of the day, our clients’ satisfaction is what it’s all about.”

Mickey, thanks again, for coming to our place to assess our home regarding the sliding glass door/stucco issue and earthquake retrofit. Your Neighbor2Neighbor profile matched what I expected from you. What I appreciate the most is your genuine, honest approach. You could have walked away with, likely, thousands of dollars in business. However, your professional insight and recommendations encouraged us away from immediate work. I can guarantee that we will call you for future home improvement project possibilities as a result. I’m glad that N2N introduced us to you!

Pasadena - January 17, 2017
We bought a small condo in Pasadena and we hired Mickey to do a total renovation. The condo is from 1947 and had never been touched. Mickey handled everything including the electrical, plumbing, kitchen and bath, even the air conditioning. He did a fabulous job. The design was about 50-50 between us. He gave us good advice all of which we took, for example, in selecting a dark brown for the hardwood floors to carry through the unit, and in planning the layout for the kitchen and bath cabinetry. He was on time and on budget. And the quality of the work, how things were finished, was just beautiful. The place had to be torn apart entirely and he was able to renovate while keeping the original look. It's perfect. We were in Europe for part of the work—we handed him the keys and trusted him to do the work right.

Mickey redid our kitchen and added on to our master bedroom. He was very thorough going through the permit process and he had great subs that did various parts of the remodel. He's your word-of-mouth kind of contractor and stands behind his work from start to finish. His pup, Charlie, is a joy to have on site if you want your dog to have a playmate during construction!

Mickey Granot remodeled a bathroom as well as our garage for use as alternate space in the house. My wife came across a copy of n2n and spotted the Karma Builders page. We called a number of different contractors and one main reason we went with Mickey was the fact that he responded promptly, was on top of the estimates and adapted them as the project changed. He seemed interested in the project despite its rather small size. Mickey changed the bid a number of times to meet our requests and offered a competitive rate. He was here everyday to oversee the project and make suggestions and was clear with the costs as things changed throughout the project, as they invariably do when typical problems arise. He is personable and friendly and accommodating. I love his dog Charlie, too, who sometimes oversaw the work—you should see him cut base moulding. The design was a collaboration between us. Mickey offered many great insights. He was a stickler for details and caught many I did not think of, creating a more appealing finished project. We hope to use Mickey again in the future for a landscaping project and would certainly recommend him.

Karma Builders did a second-story addition and major remodel on a very old house. We lived just a few doors away from the job site so I was there every step of the way. Mickey was friendly, patient and open to all my questions. He is very knowledgeable but if he did not know the answer to something, he found out right away. I was pregnant during the remodel and we wanted the house finished in as short a time as possible. Mickey came through for us in every way. He is a very sweet person and my son misses him. He is also so accessible and approachable. He always answers his phone and is available, night, day and weekends, by phone, email and text. Because I have small children that was a big help to me. He was quick to respond if there was anything to fix. His bid was right in the middle of the others but we went with him because he was so easy to get along with and was willing to get the job done fast. I recommend Karma Builders 100%!

I can’t say enough good things about Mickey. I knew of his work before I called him. He is pleasant to work with, flexible, available, accommodating and responsive, a really a delightful person. Our house came out so beautiful, especially our master bathroom! This project started out as a bathroom remodel and it just kept going. We just felt we could trust Mickey. He walked us through the entire process, with great advice. He created a good rapport that made us feel comfortable. I feel like he is a part of our family after this experience. We did get other bids in the beginning. Karma Builders were closest to our budget. Other bids were way over our head. Mickey helped us get the best value for our dollar by helping us see things more realistically. Toward the end of the remodel I realized that I was actually going to miss having him around the house. You hear horror stories, but we really enjoyed our remodel!

Mickey came out and gave us a bid to remodel our bathroom, completely gutting it and starting from scratch. He stayed on budget, was always on time, always kept me in the loop, and consulted me when it was necessary. He was responsive to my needs. I could not have had a better, more positive experience. The quality of workmanship is great and his subs are fantastic. They always cleaned up the site. They had to walk quite a ways to get to the job and they were careful being in my space.

We moved from a 2400 square foot house into a 1600 square foot house and Mickey and Karma Builders were great helping us to get the new home in shape. The kitchen was especially a disaster: dark and dingy with 50’s appliances. They discussed everything with us, every step of the way. They did the work in a timely manner and stayed within our budget. His subs were wonderful and Mickey was on the site several times a day to keep an eye on our job. They also completely renovated a bedroom, knocking out a wall to redo a closet and a guest bathroom for us. I felt it was a totally collaborative project.

Karma Builders redid a bathroom in my house, from the electrical to the floors. Mickey and his crew are very cordial, timely, trust worthy and tidy—always accessible. Another job he did for me involved outdoor lighting to the pool and spa area. They did a great job! Karma Builders also remodeled my master bedroom and bath. Everything they have done has been terrific! I trust them to be in my home and that is a big thing with me. Mickey is easy to communicate with and I’ve referred them to friends.

I met Mickey when he worked for another company. He had always been a respectful gentleman, a great communicator and listener. The work he does is of excellent quality at a reasonable price. He worked within my budget and time frame. He is a realist and lets us know up front what was going on. He didn’t try to cover up anything. He won’t say he can do something that he can’t do. He is quick to respond to my calls and quick to take care of what I need, to my satisfaction. We bought a house in Silver Lake that needed a lot of TLC. Mickey did a complete kitchen rehabilitation including electrical, plumbing, floors, cabinets, hardware and painting. The whole thing! They stuccoed the outside, too. Mickey Granot is just the best contractor I have ever met.

Karma Builders has done two jobs for us so far and we expect to use them again in the future. Mickey remodeled a bathroom and replaced six windows in our dining room and family room walls. We had some leaky windows and the water went inside the walls. Mickey had to tear it all out to repair it. He had two carpenters working on the job. He had to put new drywall inside and new stucco outside. I didn’t shop around for a lower price because I trusted the person who recommended him to me and I had seen Mickey’s work. The price was fair and reasonable and for me, satisfaction with the job is the bottom line!

Mickey with Karma Builders is a very hands-on contractor. In the beginning I got other bids but now that I know Mickey’s work, I don’t use anyone else. He has done jobs for me that required permits and jobs that did not. The tradespeople that work with him are very good, too. He remodeled my guesthouse and was extremely thorough. He does beautiful work and I’m always very pleased with everything he does. His prices are more than reasonable. He is always reachable, responding quickly to emails and answering calls promptly. When he opens up a wall and finds the unexpected that wasn’t included in the bid, he gives me plenty of options with the upside and downside of each option. He will then give me his recommendation. He worked on a kitchen remodel for me and he must have put together 50 different color combinations until he and I were satisfied. He is thorough and he cares. He does what he says he is going to do and does it when he says he is going to do it.
