SAFE PLACE FOR YOUTH (SPY) IS DEDICATED to serving youth at risk of or experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles. Since 2011, SPY has become a leading service provider, offering life-saving support to over 1,300 youth, ages 12 to 25 annually. SPY’s holistic approach aims to address the complex factors that contribute to homelessness such as family-based instability, violence, trauma and experience in foster care.

SPY’s 132 beds provide a safe place to sleep with varying occupancy times, meanwhile their housing matching program finds longer term solutions. In addition, the organization offers personalized medical and dental care, mental health programming, case management, educational support, workforce development, a healing arts program, pet care, HIV testing and much more. SPY’s wraparound services and caring staff create a nurturing environment that empowers youth to overcome challenges and build brighter futures.

Through donations and supply contributions, individuals can directly support these resilient young people. As a volunteer, you can serve meals, pass out snacks and water, manage the clothing closet, support the community garden, and make a lasting difference in the lives of those who are coming of age in these uncertain times.
